In 2016, there were 13,494 bags of food distributed to members of our community, representing approximately 1,124 visits per month. 34% of the individuals served by the Sunshine Coast Food Bank are children.
The Sunshine Coast Food Bank is supported solely though generous financial and food donations from the community, the efforts and energy of supporters who organize food drives and a variety of fundraising events.
Volunteers are the back bone of the Food Bank. In 2016, 22 volunteers gave 2,842 hours of time and energy to make a difference in people’s lives on the Coast.

Donate Food to the Food Bank
Drop off your donations directly to the Food Bank (5657 Lamprey Lane, Sechelt) Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8am and 2pm. Food donations are also accepted at Community Services Thrift Store (731 North Road, Gibsons)
The following food items are always welcome:
- peanut butter
- spaghetti sauce
- canned fish
- canned meats
- tetra boxed juices
- powdered milk
- canned fruit
- canned vegetables
- canned beans
- macaroni and cheese
- personal care products like soap, shampoo, toilet paper, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products

Financial donations over $25 are tax receiptable and may be processed online through the SCCSA.ca webpage at http://www.sccss.ca/get-involved/donate
